Sola Defined: FAQs on Our New Identity
Having two strong brands in our portfolio of offerings with separate, yet related capabilities, names, logos, and messages have been difficult to manage and caused brand confusion.
The name ‘Fidelity’ is used by multiple other entities in the market, which caused a lot of confusion, while the name ‘Cardknox’ is an out-dated payment reference that doesn’t properly represent who we are, or where we’re going as a singular entity.
We will signify our two brands coming together by phasing these names out over time and transitioning to our new name, Sola.
Our brand strategy is about powering prosperity through exceptional experiences. It focuses on the core things that make us different like how we nurture meaningful relationships, how we design our solutions with purpose and scale in mind, and how we’re ultimately leading the future of payments to unlock easy, efficient and enjoyable experiences. This brand strategy will help us go further and deeper in our ISO / ISV business.
Our new name, Sola, is a significant piece of our brand and story to signify a new day for both of our companies coming together. Sola equally combines the strengths of both our entities by representing relationships that illuminate the path to prosperity with “Sol” meaning sun. It is also a metaphor for how we are an anchoring point with capabilities that revolve around our client’s needs.
We landed on Sola after engaging in a rigorous and thoughtful naming process. We wanted a name that would convey our combined strengths and reflect our brand strategy in a simplified way, while leaving room for us to grow. We also wanted a name that could not be confused with anyone else in the industry.
By combining forces and identifying as one company and team, with common goals and resources, we can leverage the combined strengths of both entities to expand our capabilities, improve our products and services, and create a culture that’s better equipped to meet our client’s needs across the ever evolving payments landscape.
With one brand, we can create a simpler and more seamless experience for customers and partners interacting with us. By combining our exemplary support and partnership with the ability to integrate complex payment solutions across a variety of channels, we will be better equipped to meet your needs and supercharge your growth as the payment landscape evolves over time.
The brand launch event will be a “brand reveal.” Once the brand is announced, it will take quite some time to phase in the new brand and phase out the old. We wish it were as simple as snapping our fingers and “poof!”, but the logistics of changing a technology company’s brand requires a phased approach. The marketing department will spearhead the effort to keep you all in the loop with switchovers.
We are committed to providing a smooth transition, and this means we will not abruptly sunset the Cardknox gateway. Instead, we will allow ample time for you to adapt to any updates or switchovers. We know that the continuity of your integrations is critical, so you can expect their functionality to remain intact throughout this transition. The good news is, that most of the switchover will happen seamlessly in the background and will not require any changes on your part.
Our phone numbers will remain the same. Our email addresses will change, but our old ones will also work – and they will forward to our new addresses. Our websites and domains will all be switched over, but the old links will work as well.
